MVP VOLVO Service Schedule

FACTORY INTERVALS:

1. 1976 & Earlier = every 6,000 miles
2. 1976-1985 = every 7,500 miles. Turbos get interim oil change every 3,750 miles.
3. 1986-1992 = every 5,000 miles for all cars.
4. 1993-1998 = every 10,000 miles. Turbos = every 5,000 miles
5. 1999-Present = every 7,500 miles.

MVP RECOMMENDS:

1. 5,000-mile interval services for all Volvo cars up to 1999.
2. Interim oil changes between 5,000-mile services on customer's request.
3. 1999-Present = every 7,500 miles with interim oil changes every 3,750 miles.

OIL CHANGE:

• Replace oil and filter.
• Check and fill Transmission fluid, Power Steering fluid, Coolant and Washer fluid.
• Reset Service Light.

5,000-MILE SERVICE (LOF, Safety Check):

• Lubricate all latches and hinges.
• Adjust washer jets
• Inspect wiper blades and tighten wiper pivots.
• Set tires to proper pressure.
• Inspect brakes.
• Inspect all lights and replace as needed.
• Inspect vehicle for needed repairs.
• Clean and lubricate antenna mast.

10,00-MILE SERVICE:

• Check engine diagnostics for fault codes.
• Set engine-operating specs. (Where applicable)
• Check battery electrolyte.
• Test air conditioning.
• Inspect PCV system and service if needed.
• Adjust parking brake.
• Adjust Kick down cable. (Where applicable)
• Adjust clutch. (Where applicable)
• Tighten suspension to factory specs.
• Tire rotate and balance. (Additional charge)

20,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Flush Transmission fluid. (Additional charge)
• Replace timing belt and auxiliary belt. (1992 960 = 1st time only)

30,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Adjust Valves. (Where applicable)
• Replace spark plugs.
• Replace air filter.
• Service PCV system.
• Flush manual transmission fluid. (Where applicable)
• Flush brake fluid.
• Flush coolant.
• Change rear axle fluid. (Where applicable)
• Clean and adjust throttle body. (Additional charge)
• Test battery and charging system.
• Pressure test cooling system.
• Inspect fuel and ignition components for needed repairs.
• Replace timing belt and auxiliary belt(s). (1992 960 after 70,000 miles, all 1993 960s)

40,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Replace timing belt and auxiliary belt. (1992 960 also need to upgrade with torsional camshaft dampener.)

50,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Replace timing belt and drive/auxiliary belt(s). (All red engines, 1993 850's.)
• Replace front engine seals. (Red engines)

60,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Replace fuel filter.

70,000-MILE SERVICE:

• Replace timing belt and auxiliary belt. (1995 and newer 960/S/V90's, 1994 and newer 850/S/C70's, 1992 960's 3rd belt.
